New Series/New Ideas

For the longest time, I've been thinking about how to incorporate technology into process. I'm done thinking about it. In this new series of three panel artworks on paper, I'm creating an 8"x8" painting on paper, then creating an 8"x8" abstraction on patterned paper with software and inkjet printer, then scanning the original painting and tweaking, flipping and enhancing it in Photoshop before printing an 8"x8" image on paper with inkjet printer.

These can be displayed horizontally or vertically: top image is the Photoshopped image; middle image is the abstraction created with Publisher; bottom image is the original painting. All pieces 8"x8". Untitled at this point.

All feedback welcome. Don't spare my feelings.

i love this.i like how they come together
so, i really dont think you need direction, but a few things popped in my mind as i ate these up. this could be a fairly large series. i love the red line drawings. i have always loved that you draw with color. i love the style, feel, technique whatever of the legs. i think that would be great to blow up (maybe add to this series to make 4 or 5). just to throw it out... what about referencing that pattern within a space of your drawing or sky? for number 6.
im siked about these. i like all the elements. it works.
titles hilarious and true.
constructive stuff, i love all the lines in the face but usually back off on some of the edges and details of the face at that range and distance but im not sure i would change it. the lip is a little low from the nose but really, there is an artistic and individualistic feel to every line in the face.
great stuff tim.

man these are pretty inspiring! did you use the golden printing mediums with these?
i feel like this could open a whole new door for your work...there's a whole lotta stuff you could experiment with. i like the hard edges in the top on and the gradient...i like the contrast of printed/digital vs man made...
do you have a real good printer or are you just using a normal house hold one?
well
i can't wait to see more of these!
awesome!

brad./trav--no mediums involved here, and as for the printer, simply using the low tech canon printer scanner copier here at home...like you, i sense a new direction coming on...also,in hindsight, the dryer lint series has been extremely beneficial because it has gotten me out of a comfort zone and forced me to experiment with techniques and allowed me to see that i can unite painting with other ideas that have been calling me.
