new figures

these are two new watercolors ,
i put birds in their shirts
im now full speed ahead on the book im doing with that writer
after these and getting the first check i can devote more time to it
not feeling like im losing money if im not painting for the gallery
which is something i battle with considering
experimental or outside projects
wierd
these photos are not the best, alot of subtlety is lost
i like these backgrounds. im considering some other forms of abstraction into these large passages
lovin it

niiiice! i really like the decision to put the birds in the dresses! it really adds a new dimension to the figures. kind of puts a narrative element into it. like...what is the relation between these two things? the break up 3 is my fav but my favorite background is in the mer2web one. but in mer2web the left shoulder looks a little weird.
i love the rays coming off the bird in break-up-3. i'm a sucker for those ray things...and i probably abuse them but how you use them there it's very useful to draw your attention to the bird. nice shit good luck with that booK!

sorry bout the titles
they are still in progress

ya, ive always wanted to make interesting stacks of imagery
maybe ill stack more stuff in the future.
it seems to be the next step

the shoulder is a little wierd on that one, i didnt even spot it
ill probably hit the edge a bit, even though i want a slouchy look , not sure i want it that extreme
but i dunno, it seems the more i make art the less i am paying attention to correct form,
i hope im not slacking...

this is a neat idea, a painting-within-a-painting like Bradner in a sort of way. I think I prefer the bird in the top piece to the owl in the lower piece, although the blue rays are pretty nicely done. It sinks into the rest of the painting better for me, seeming less like a painting on top of a painting (the bird in the upper image).

I also really am drawn to the bubbles and circles escaping from the figure's head in the upper piece.

Those backgrounds are intense. I'd almost like to see a whole series of paintings of just that kind of effect. Not to diminish the figures in any way--I just really dig the way you handled the paint. I guess the slouching one does look a little hunchy, but you could leave it and it'd still be perfect.
