Here's the story behind the seat/foot rest:
Someone gave me a copier for the gallery. She was moving. It turned out that the copier didn't work. I felt like I had been duped, that I had just been saddled with an archaic machine that she didn't want to deal with or dispose of properly. It sat in my basement, taking up space. Then one day I was working on something, and I was crouching, and my knees began to hurt, so I sat on a milk crate for a while, but ultimately, I wasn't high enough. I got mad. I grabbed the copier and a roll of duct tape, and I taped the copier to the milk crate and said, viola! a seat. This is how the piece came into being. It was born of anger.
