newest big chriper.
just tryin to have fun,
i dont like canvas, and during this piece i realized this temporary truth again and again.
i wish the color was slightly different, might rework at some point, make it a little more solid.
might start collaging these things soon
40x44 acrlyic and oil on canvas

yooooooooooooo nice. out of the three of these i like the molly one the best. i like the chirp one a lot too cause it's a little different from the other chirps you've been doin'. your stuff some times is so much like elizabeth peyton. do you like her stuff? you know what makes that molly portrait to me? is that little turquoise line comin down by her right eye and then the even suttler turquoise line on her nose...i mean...of course i love all that stuff in her hair but that's obvious...the subtle stuff you do to me is what just really makes these things great ...the unexpected stuff...like in the chirp one the big black section....i just like being surprised...and you surprise me and yeeeeeeaaaassh
trav, i like these, like Chirp and MOLs the most. i think i like the birds most when the patterning within the bird has to compete with the patterning/abstraction behind or around it. the birds with washes don't interest me as much...these are nice!
i also like the perspective in Chirp and MOLs, and think that it contributes to a lot of the success of each piece. the images seem to be leaning toward us, and they seem like close ups...whereas the image in the middle painting is further away, more in the background than the foreground...i don't know if this makes sense to you, i don't think i'm conveying my idea very well...
