new piece not unlike my others , still making women/package/explosions this time i put a little person insider her heart area cheering the banner says "between"
dude your watercolors are so fucking BEAUTIFUL! my favorite part is the background...that deep, blood red...and the blue/green on the left looks like some kind of portal. also i like the contrast of the background with the girl. having minimal washes on her really sticks her out. i'm not sure if i'm a big fan of the wings. it's not that i don't like them there...i'm just not sure if it's necessary. the wings and text...those are symbols. it's like...you need to tell the viewer something on top of what you're already showing them. and what you're showing is enough for me. those washes in the back and the crazy etchings on the girl say more than the text and wings ever could, i think. like rothko can say so much jus painting squares...i dunno...i guess i'm maybe reading too much into just some wings and text.
those backgrounds are always a tossup you never know if they are going to work out
so, i know this is vague but are you getting a sense freedom/ celebration in the face of chaos in this?
its a good point about the words and wings. im not sure i want redundancy either. the word is minor enough but the wings came about as a sortof a sketch idea. and i like the fact im working with birds now . with the gals in this series i just try to fill them up with stuff. do you think its cheesy? hehe i didnt really think about it. maybe im getting lazy thanks man nice to get the mirror=-trav

i love this background too. the genius must have been hanging out.
some of the ephemeral background washes are completely opalescent. It's marvelous.
