some houses

well i really hate to put anything near that hot painting below this
because it's going to dim in comparison...but...well...here's another
paper piece...18"x24" acrylic and oil. the path in the background is
from spain. i got a lot of good pics from there (spain2928851.shutterfly.com)
some great source material...air power windmill things, hills, paths, freeways,
balls with things coming out of them, sheep etc...feel free to use anything
if it catches your fancy. i don't think i like the houses in this painting...they look
a little too....naievish style or something. also...do you think the sky needs
something in it? or is it good to have a little bit of open space?

HEY NER

GRATS ON OBAMA FOR US ALL

I LOVE THIS PIECE, VERY INTERESTING
KINDOF AN INTERIOR OUTSIDE EH?

I LOVE THE STRIPES IN PERSPECTIVE
THE NEUTRALIZATION IS KEEN

I AGREE ABOUT THE HOUSES
NOT SURE WHAT EXACTLY IT IS, MAYBE THAT THEY ARE LESS DETAILED AND THE PERSPECTIVE IS COCKED A LITTLE
I KNOW YOU USUALLY DO THAT INTENTIONALLY, BUT THESE ONES FEEL LESS PURPOSEFULLY COCKED,
JUST WANTED TO SAY COCK A FEW TIMES

THANKS FOR DOING CONSISTANTLY INTERESTING AND INSPIRING WORK!
YOUR PANTS ARE ON FIRE

I wouldn't worry too much about the houses. The wonky perspective is part of the charm.

As for the open space in the corner, I couldn't decide. It's good to have some quiet moments in a piece, but since it's the only part of the piece that's so empty, it might look out of place. I think it depends on what you're going for. There's definitely a contrast between exterior and interior. And even though there's that contrast, you've maintained compositional balance with that blue tile and that bright rainbow. brightrainbowgallery. I'm rambling.

I can't believe the details in those super mario screens. You're crazy.

the houses in this piece read as like doll houses or like houses painted on blocks of wood which i think totally works. i love the outside space.
