new diver... oil and acrylic on board about 28 by 48 are these images too disconnected. i like the distance but i was considering something to force them to connect more. a layer of something...
yo! thank you for calling me today and reminding my dumb ass about this site. i ran outta daylight today so i couldn't take a picture of any new stuff...hopefully tomorrow i'll be able to and i'll make a post.
so anyway here are some comments:
i think the images are a little too disconnected. it would be real interesting to see how you connect them more with a new layer. i am a big fan of images within images so i love that in the piece. you could also change the diver little painting to make it fit more w/ the girl. it fits a bit since they're both close to the edge of the square but maybe even if the diver was making a shape more like that of the head... ((it's weird. i'm not sure about this but do you get the feeling that when you ask yourself a question about a painting you already know the answer? that happens to me sometimes...and like i just don't want to admit the answer to myself. i guess that just happens in life a lot. but i'm not sure if it, like, always happens with painting but maybe sometimes...))
excellent suggestion... and it's true about asking the question, alot of my problem solving occurs in bouncing ideas off yall. and thats part of the beauty of this place. so ill post the next installment soon. i decided to take the frame form and include it in the figure and also, your suggestion that the diver and the model are close to the edge, i exaggerated that relationship by painting a bar close the the models head. ty
