experimental work #1

i have been into drawing lately. going back to basics
so i have been gessoing boards. and i took the idea of painting
on boxes from my sister kellie pickard.
this is a portrait on a wine box. 90 percent done
i might give it an oil glaze.
what do you think...
another idea im playing with is serving wine at the opening in these.
silly but interesting for me somehow...

i think like a yellow ochre glaze or something would be nice...bring more harmony w/ the color you have in it.

i wouldn't mind seeing a pic of the whole box...funny idea to serve wine in it.

I love the way the blurred graphite gives her face an ethereal quality. Like it's on a separate transparent layer. The "Franzia" showing through helps the effect too.

I agree with Bradner on the glaze--to bring it all together.

You should paint a bunch of these and smuggle them back onto the shelves at Smith's.

i just envisioned me taking these into smiths and playing voyeur.!!!

i did the glaze
yellow ochre, looks great thanks.

initially i was going to try a blue
but ill do it on the next one...

i decided since its an experimental time in my work...that i would actually take more advice. 8)
